For those who knew Donald Palmer, Class of ’58, I am sad to inform you of his passing on Easter Sunday. I have attached below the obituary I received from his son.
Don Palmer left us on Easter Sunday to be in a better place. He was a loving husband to Marilyn, and they were going to celebrate 45 years of marriage together on April 19th. Don loved his family more than anything in the world. He was the father of two boys, Harold and Alan, and the loving grandfather of three girls, Eileen, Alexis, and Isabel. He enjoyed all his girls immensely: wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters and liked to spoil all of them. His favorite thing in the world was to make other people happy. Don made friends easily and had many long-time friends which he enjoyed keeping in touch with. He liked to sing for others and was a member of two quartets, a duet, and the church choir. Don served his Lord as an elder in his church for many years and often mentioned how spiritually rewarding this service was to him.
Don worked for Unisys at the Manned Space Center in Houston. He transferred to St. Paul, MN in 1968 where he resided for the past 45 years. He also joined Coldwell Banker and sold real estate in Minnesota. He was in the process of permanently relocating to his home state of Texas when the Good Lord took him home.
Don will be greatly missed by all.
